How Can I Activate Call Protection on My phone?

Call Protection is a feature in Control+ that helps monitor and block suspicious calls automatically.

How to Activate Call Protection

1. Open the Control+ app and go to the Home screen.
2. Scroll down to Your services and tap Call Protection.
3. If it shows Inactive, tap Set up to activate it. If it shows a toggle instead, turn the toggle on.

On iPhone, you may also need to enable the Control+ extension:

1. Open Settings → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification.
2. Turn on Control+.
3. Restart your iPhone, then reopen Control+ and confirm that Call Protection is active.

If iOS displays “Error Enabling Extension” or says the data provided by Control+ is invalid, make sure you are signed in, restart the iPhone, and try enabling the extension again. If the error continues, uninstall and reinstall Control+, sign in again, and repeat the steps above.

Once activated:

• We will monitor your incoming calls.
• Calls that appear suspicious will be automatically blocked.

1. Open Settings → Apps → Default Apps.
2. Look for Caller ID & Spam App, Call Screening App, or a similarly named option.
3. Select Control+, then reopen the app and confirm that Call Protection is active.

Once activated:

• We will monitor your incoming calls.
• Calls that appear suspicious will be automatically blocked.
• You will receive a notification whenever a call is blocked (iOS only, version 18 and above).

Additional Notes

• Spammers constantly change numbers: Even with Call Protection on, you may still receive some spam calls. This is normal, especially in the first few weeks. See our article on why you may still be getting spam calls.
• Manual control: You can manually block or unblock phone numbers in the same Call Protection section of the app. This ensures trusted numbers always get through.
• Reporting helps: Send examples of spam numbers that get through so they can be reviewed for blocklist updates.
