Is the App Supposed to Be Actively Running in the Background?

Control+ is designed to run actively in the background to provide continuous protection and monitoring, even when the app is closed or you are not actively using it.


Why It Runs in the Background

  • Real-time monitoring: Control+ continues monitoring for scams and data leaks and protecting your personal information without requiring the app to remain open on screen.
  • Automatic updates: Data broker removal requests and other protections continue processing in the background.
  • Notifications: You will receive alerts and updates — such as when suspicious calls are blocked or data is removed — when available.


Important Notes

Data broker removals can take time because each broker has its own processing and verification timeline. Progress bars may remain unchanged for a while and then increase when confirmations are received. Removal requests cannot be manually expedited.


The app is optimized to minimize battery and resource usage, so running in the background should not significantly impact your device.
