What is Identity Protection and how does it work?

🔍 What Does Identity Protection Do?

Dark web monitoring: Our system continuously scans dark web databases and known breach sources to check if your email address or phone number has been exposed.
Breach alerts: If your information is found, you'll receive an immediate notification telling you what was detected so you can take action quickly.
Ongoing protection: Identity Protection doesn't run just once — it continuously monitors for new exposures throughout your subscription.

📧 What Information Does It Monitor?

Identity Protection monitors the email addresses and phone numbers linked to your Control+ account. You can add up to 3 additional email addresses to extend your coverage.

To add more emails:

Open the Control+ app and go to the Home screen.
Tap Identity Protection.
Select Edit your emails.

Data breaches happen when companies that hold personal data are compromised. Unfortunately, this is extremely common and affects millions of people every year. Once your data is exposed, it can end up circulating among data brokers and on the dark web — where it can be used for identity theft, scams, and fraud.
