How to Turn On Browsing Protection (iPhone & Android)
Before you start: make sure you're logged in and have the latest version of Control+ installed.
🍏 iPhone & iPad
- Open the Control+ app and go to the Home screen.
- Tap Browsing Protection.
- Read the short introduction ("Staying safe online") and tap Next → Done, or tap Skip.
- Turn Browsing Protection on. If iOS asks for permission, tap Allow.
- Go to your iPhone Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → DNS and make sure Control+ is selected (checked).
- Allow notifications so we can alert you about risky and blocked websites.
🤖 Android
- Open the Control+ app and go to the Home screen.
- Tap Browsing Protection.
- Go through the short introduction and tap Done, or tap Skip.
- Turn Browsing Protection on. That's it — no extra phone settings are needed.
- Allow notifications so we can alert you about risky and blocked websites.
Still Showing Inactive?
- iPhone: check that Control+ is selected under Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → DNS. If you use a Private DNS setting or a VPN app that provides its own DNS, it can conflict with Browsing Protection — turn it off and try again.
- Restart your phone and check again.
If it's still inactive, see Browsing Protection Is Not Working — Troubleshooting.
How to Turn It Off
In the Control+ app, go to Home → Browsing Protection and turn it off. We recommend keeping it on for full protection.
