# Why did you block my friend on Facebook/Telegram/etc?

Control+ does **not** block people, contacts or accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp or any other app. It cannot see your conversations, contacts or social media accounts.

## 🛡️ What Control+ Does

Control+ is designed to protect you from:
- Spam and fraudulent calls and messages
- Data leaks on the dark web
- Data broker exposure of your personal information
- **Dangerous websites:** Browsing Protection checks websites you open, including links you tap inside apps such as Instagram or Facebook. If a link leads to a dangerous website, Control+ blocks that **website**. You'll see a blank page and a notification. It never blocks the person who sent the link.

## ❓ A Link From a Friend Didn't Open?

If a link someone sent you opens a blank page and you received a Control+ notification, the website was rated dangerous. Your friend's account may have been compromised and used to send scam links. Don't enter any personal details on that site.

If you're sure the website is safe, you can allowlist it. See *How to Allowlist (Unblock) a Website*.

## ❓ Why Might a Contact Appear Blocked?

If you're seeing that someone has been blocked, it could be due to:
- Your messaging app's own spam or safety filters
- Settings you or someone with access to your account may have changed
- The other person blocking you or deactivating their account

## 🚨 Concerned About a Suspicious Contact?

If this person has asked you for money, personal details, or sent suspicious links, they may be a scammer. Contact our support team with more details and we'll guide you on steps to protect yourself.
